Safety Instructions & Product Care for Leather Types

Vitello / Calfskin:

1. Dust removal
Gently wipe away dust and dirt with a soft cloth or shoe brush.
Damp cleaning: For heavier soiling, use a slightly damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaners or soaps, as these can dry out the leather.

2. Care with shoe cream
Choose the right shoe cream: Use a color-neutral or color-matching shoe cream specifically for smooth leather.
Application: Massage a small amount in circular motions with a soft cloth or brush. This nourishes the leather, maintains color intensity, and protects against drying out.

3. Create shine
After the shoe cream has absorbed, polish with a shine brush (horsehair) to create an elegant, natural shine.

4. Impregnation
Protection against moisture: Treat regularly with a high-quality waterproofing spray. Make sure to use a spray specifically suitable for smooth leather.
Application: Spray evenly from a distance of approx. 20 cm. Waterproof shoes before the first wear and after each care.

5. Storage and shape
Use shoe trees: Use wooden shoe trees to prevent creasing and maintain shape.
Store dry and dark: Vitello leather should not be exposed to direct sunlight or high humidity.

6. Refreshing and care for wear and tear
For deep scratches or heavy wear, a color-matching leather care balm or leather cream can be used for repair.
Deeper damage can be repaired by a professional shoemaker.

Important: Do not make major mistakes
No heat: Never dry shoes on radiators or under strong heat. This leads to cracks in the leather.
No aggressive chemicals: Do not use household cleaners or harsh products, as these can permanently damage the leather.

Nappa / Smooth leather:

1. Remove dust and dirt with a soft cloth or a gentle brush.
For light soiling, clean with a damp cloth and mild soap solution.

1. Remove dust and dirt: Gently brush out with a special velour brush (e.g., rubber brush or crepe brush).
Dry clean: For smaller stains, use a velour eraser or a special stain eraser.

2. Care and color refreshment
Use color spray: To refresh the color, use a suede color spray in the appropriate color.
Application: Spray evenly and let dry to make the leather look new again.

3. Protection against moisture
Waterproofing: Suede should be treated regularly with a special waterproofing spray for rough leather.
Application: Spray from approx. 20–30 cm distance and let dry completely. This protects against water and stains.

4. Remove stains
Light stains: Gently dab with a damp cloth and distilled water, do not rub.
Grease stains: Sprinkle with some baby powder or cornstarch, let sit overnight, and brush out.

With frequent wear or friction, shiny spots can form. These can be remedied by brushing and light roughening.

6. Storage
Shoe trees: Use wooden shoe trees to maintain the shape.

Store dry: Suede should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and humidity.
Important: Do not make major mistakes

Pony / Fur:

Properties of Pony
Pony leather, often referred to as "Pony Hair," consists of real leather with a fine, short hair structure. It is robust, but sensitive to moisture and abrasion. Here are the most important care instructions to maintain quality and appearance:

Care instructions
1. Cleaning
Remove dust: Brush with a soft brush (e.g., suede brush) in the direction of the hair to remove dust and dirt.
Light stains: Gently dab with a damp cloth, do not rub.
Stubborn dirt: Use a mild soap solution and gently clean with a soft sponge. Always work in the direction of the hair.

2. Protection against moisture
Waterproofing: Use a special waterproofing spray for rough leather or natural materials to protect the leather from moisture and stains.
Important: Make sure to apply the spray from a sufficient distance (approx. 20–30 cm) and not to stick the hairs together.

3. Dealing with hair loss
Avoid hair loss: Avoid strong rubbing or pulling on the hairs, as this can lead to hair loss.
Protection against abrasion: When wearing, pay attention to rough surfaces to avoid wear.

4. Storage
Dry and cool: Pony leather products should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
Protection against pressure marks: Stuff with tissue paper or store in a cotton bag to protect the structure.

5. Professional care
Heavy soiling: For stubborn stains or damage, it is advisable to consult a specialist or leather cleaner.

Important notes
No machine washing: Pony leather should never be cleaned in the washing machine.
No chemicals: Avoid aggressive cleaning agents, as these can damage the hair structure and the leather.
No heat: Let products dry slowly in the air if they get damp.

Velvet / Velvet:

1. Dust removal:
Brush gently in one direction with a soft brush or a special velvet glove to avoid damaging the pile.
Light soiling:
Remove with a dry, soft cloth or a lint roller.

2. Stain treatment
Fresh stains:
Immediately dab with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel to absorb liquid. Do not rub!
Stubborn stains:
Use a mild soap solution (e.g., baby shampoo) and clean gently with a damp sponge or cloth. Then dab dry with a dry cloth.

3. Protection against moisture
Waterproofing:
Velvet can be treated with a special waterproofing spray for textiles or delicate fabrics to protect it from moisture and stains.

4. Care and straightening of the pile
Brushing up:
After cleaning, straighten the pile in the correct direction with a velvet brush or a soft toothbrush.
Steam treatment:
For flattened velvet, lightly steam the material, e.g., with a hand steamer. Apply steam from a safe distance and gently straighten the pile with a brush.

5. Storage
Cool, dry environment:
Protect velvet products from direct sunlight and moisture.
Avoid creases:
Stuff velvet shoes or accessories with tissue paper and store them in a cotton bag.

6. Professional cleaning
Heavy soiling:
For difficult stains or damage, professional textile cleaning specializing in delicate materials is recommended.

Important notes

No machine washing:
Velvet is not suitable for washing machines.
No aggressive cleaning agents:
Chemical products can permanently damage the material.
No heat:
Let products dry slowly in the air, not near radiators or direct sunlight.

Textile:

1. Remove dust and dirt: Gently wipe with a soft brush or a dry, clean cloth.
Stain treatment: For light soiling, spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soapy water, then pat dry.

2. Protection against moisture
No water: Natural fibers are sensitive to moisture. Avoid direct contact with water, as the material can swell and lose its shape.
Waterproofing: A suitable waterproofing spray for natural fibers or textiles can help make the surface water-repellent. Test on an inconspicuous area before use.

3. Shape retention
Store dry: Store natural fiber products in a dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
Use filling: Stuff shoes or bags with tissue paper to preserve their shape.

4. Repair and care
Fringes or loose fibers: Carefully remove with scissors – do not pull, as this can damage the fabric.
Professional help: For major damage, repair by a specialist company for natural fibers or a shoemaker is recommended.

5. Important notes
No machine washing: Natural fiber products are not suitable for machine washing.
No chemical cleaners: Aggressive cleaning agents can damage the fibers.

Safety Instructions & Product Care for Shearling

Shearling is a natural material, valued for its luxurious feel and warming properties. Please note that the fine lambskin may occasionally shed some color if it absorbs a lot of moisture – for example, due to heavy perspiration.

To optimally preserve the high quality and comfort, we recommend regularly airing out the shoes and, if necessary, combining them with a fine, breathable sock. This way, your shearling shoe will remain a stylish and loyal companion for many occasions.

Safety Instructions & Product Care for Buckles

When caring for shoes with buckles, we recommend carefully covering the buckles before applying a waterproofing spray. This prevents the metal surfaces from being damaged or discolored, thus preserving their shine. Adhesive tape or a small piece of cloth can be used to protect the buckles during spraying.

After the waterproofing spray has dried, the protection can be removed, and your shoes will be fully cared for and protected.
