"Shoes can transform a woman," says Fritz Unützer. Ever since the Munich native completed his apprenticeship at Burberry, Church's, and John Lobb in London, his passion for shoes has never left him. Building on the legacy and expertise of his father's company and the experience he had gained since 1947, he founded his eponymous shoe and accessory brand UNÜTZER in 1989.
Useless over time

1947
After stays in London and Paris, Peter and Fritz Unützer followed in their father's footsteps and continued to run the family business and fashion house "U-Sportmoden GmbH & Co KG", which had been in existence since 1947, in Munich's most beautiful shopping street.

1960
At the end of the 1960s, they opened the high-end fashion boutique "The English House" at Maximilianstraße 32.

1989
Building on the legacy and know-how of his father's company and his accumulated experience, he founded his eponymous shoe and accessory brand UNÜTZER in 1989.
To guarantee the highest quality standards and durability, Unützer acquired its own production facility in Italy, near Venice, in the late 1980s – a region where, for centuries, leather goods have been meticulously handcrafted to the highest standards in small factories with excellent expertise. Each model is crafted from the finest materials by Italian artisans in up to 160 individual steps.
Unützer's creations are timeless, clear in design, refined in detail, characterized by his unerring sense for the successful interplay of inimitable elegance, perfect comfort and fashionable zeitgeist.
"We believe that as a company we have a responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint and create a product that is of the highest quality and longevity."
- Fritz Unützer
