For three generations, we have been perfecting our creations to combine elegance, comfort and durability with timeless design. Every UNÜTZER shoe is handmade in Italy from the finest materials – we pay particular attention to sourcing sustainable leather and carefully selecting our partners.
Our uncompromising commitment to quality and craftsmanship are the foundation of our values, which we build on with every step. We focus on the perfect product with fair and sustainable production standards.
From design to sourcing to working with carefully selected partners, we carefully consider the development of each piece to ensure our shoes can be worn for many years.
Timeless designs with a perfect fit embody a distinctive UNÜTZER aesthetic through their clarity of form and material.
UNÜTZER shoes are 100% made in Italy, near Venice, where leather goods have been produced with expertise in small factories and meticulous craftsmanship for centuries, meeting the highest standards. Through its own production facility in Veneto, UNÜTZER has been vertically integrated since 1989.
The long-term cooperation with carefully selected partners/family businesses enables maximum reliability in production standards, fair employee conditions and the highest quality with a focus on sustainability.
It takes over 150 work steps and regular assembly and quality controls to make an UNÜTZER ballerina perfect.
To avoid overproduction, we manufacture our products in small batches and adjust our supply to demand.
We are proud to work with a team of shoemakers who have generations of expertise and have been handcrafting our leather products for over 30 years.
The shoemaking craft is our passion - we support long-standing employees in passing on their skills and experience to the next generation.
Personal contact with employees and harmonious cooperation are an important basis for UNÜTZER's success and enable us to gain the best possible understanding of our products.
We collaborate with carefully selected partners whose working practices align with our values and standards.
Our leather is largely a byproduct of the food industry and is sourced locally from specialized suppliers for each type of leather – for example, fine nappa leather comes from the Veneto region, and thicker vitello leather is sourced from Tuscany. The processed hides are mostly chrome-free and partly vegetable-dyed.
